Oran Thorton

Oran Thornton is a multi instrumentalist producer/writer who was born and raised in the small town of Stockton, Missouri.

At age 14, Oran was lead guitarist and writer in the band Johnny Q Public, who saw success in the Christian music industry, and their video for song "Body Be" received airtime on MTV. During his time playing with Johnny Q, Oran toured all across the U.S. and also recorded and toured the U.S. and Europe with DC Talk. At age 17, Oran and his younger brother, Trevor, established the band Flick, who signed to Columbia Records. The band put out two records, first produced by Joe Baldridge out of Nashville; and then recorded a second record in London with producer Gil Norton.

Oran, feeling more at home in the studio than on the road, decided to turn his focus towards engineering, producing and songwriting. He produced several independent records for the next couple years out of his studio in Missouri. Then moved to Nashville 2009. Soon after he began working under great producers and mentors like Mike Wrucke, Frank Liddell, Jay Joyce and others while working with Miranda Lambert (Revolution), David Nail, Little Big Town and Eric Church. He engineering and played guitar on Stoney LaRue and Eli Young Band records. He also produced and played guitar on Adam Hood, Brent Cobb, and Logan Brill records.

In November 2015, Oran signed his first publishing deal with Gravity Gone Music and Deluge Music.

Oran has produced critically acclaimed albums including Angaleena Presley’ (of the Pistol Annies) 2016 record, "Wrangled" and Logan Brill's "Shut Eye." He produced Adam Hood's LP "Somewhere In Between" and also cowrote "Keeping Me Here" released in October 2018.
